Hair transplant
The operative hair transplant is a smooth redistribution of on'es own small follicular units with hair roots. There must be a wealth of donor hair available and the hair loss must not be due to illness or androgenetic baldness. Hairs are removed from areas of dense hair growth and are transplants to spots that are affected by the hair loss. The areas where the transplants are removed from do not change significantly. The donor areas are closed with extremely fine surgical sutures are no longer visible through the neighboring hair.
The number of transplants per procedure varies depending on the diagnosis: 1000 to 3000 hair roots. When the transplanted roots produce hair after a few months, the hair appears absolutely natural. The procedure is performed on an ambulatory basis under local anesthesia. After the operation a turban-like head bandage is applied which can be hidden without problems under a hat. After 24 hours the bandage can be removed. Only microscopically small wounds which disappear after a few days remind one of the transplantation.
The transplanted hairs fall out after a few days, but the hair roots grow new hair during the following weeks. The places where the hair roots are implanted in the scalp are no longer recognizable and the hair appears absolutely natural.
