The city
When you leave Villa Eden you don’t leave nature behind because Merano is famous for its natural beauty. The city is set in a milieu of nature, tradition, culture and modern elements that always offer an element of surprise for visitors. This appealing mix underscoring mitteleuropean influences is what makes Merano a top international destination.
Merano is also known for its innumerable treasures, testimony to its rich past, offering appeal both historically and artistically speaking, for its shows, fairs and cultural events, not to mention the many free-time activities and sports for every age group.
Finally, the city is famous for its thermal spa offering an oasis of health and wellness to the residents and to the guests of South Tyrol. The Terme Merano, inaugurated in 2005, offers a thermal spa area of 7.650 sq. m, a spa and vital centre, numerous indoor and outdoor pools, many saunas, a splendid park, a bistrò and a cafè. The homoeothermic and sulphuric water of the spa is rich in minerals with a saline content comparable to sea water.
