Other limitations of breast that are too large, such as poor posture, soreness in the shoulder and neck areas and headaches can also be reduced. Although not as well know as breast enlargement, breast reduction can improve one's appearance, strengthen self-confidence and ease the complaints related to the large size.As a rule a short, one to several day hospital stay is sensible. A breast reduction takes approximately three hours and is usually performed under general anesthetic. The most common procedure involves removing excessive glandular and fatty tissue from the lower breast area. This requires relocating the nipple upwards and possibly reducing its size.
The scars will appear hardened and red for several months. Afterwards they become paler and paler and less noticeable. The sutures usually encircle the nipple and run vertically toward the lower breast crease.
