Rhinoplasty

The classic Dorsal Hump or nostrils that are too large. A snub nose may leave a whole different impression. With rhinoplasty the desired change in nasal form can be achieved through carefully camouflaged interior incisions at the back and the tip of the nose. The subtler the procedure, the finer the effects. In such cases general anesthesia is recommended. The operation lasts two hours on average.

The ideal age: No age limit. Young adults or older individuals can have rhinoplasty. Patients over the age of 60 have also improved the appearance of their noses and felt reborn.

Postoperative care: After the operation with change in form of the bridge of the nose the wearing of a nose splint for one week is necessary. The plugs are removed 24 to 48 hours after the operation. In the first few days after the operation there is usually some swelling. The healing period takes at least two weeks. The incisions are always hidden in the nose, except in the case of nostril reduction.

Risks: Noses with dense hair tend to regain their natural appearance better. Even though the outcome may be evaluated shortly after the procedure, it may take up to two or three months before the final results are visible.
