Laubengasse is still the pulse of trade and the lifeline of the entire business hustle and bustle of Merano. During the 13th and 14th century when the city was the capital of Tyrol, commerce and trades flourished under the arcades of Laubengasse. Today, this area has spread into other parts of the inner city: Freiheitsstrasse, Rennweg and the surrounding streets and alleys. This is part of the attraction of Merano's inner city and invites for business as well as entertainment.
